Tirana Airport to Durrës: the fastest way in

Tirana International Airport — most people just call it Rinas, after the village it sits in — is the usual first stop for anyone heading to Durrës. The drive is short: about 30 kilometres, mostly along the SH2, and in normal traffic it takes somewhere around 30 to 40 minutes.

The road itself is a fast, modern dual carriageway for most of the way, so it's an easy first drive in Albania even if you've just stepped off a long flight. Signage toward "Durrës" is clear from the airport roundabout.

Renting a car directly at the airport skips the usual shuttle-then-taxi routine. Message us on WhatsApp before you fly with your arrival time, and the car is parked and waiting when you land — no counter, no queue, no separate transfer to arrange.

If you're continuing further down the coast afterward, Durrës itself is a good base: it sits right on the SH2 and SH4, so onward drives to most of the coastline start from here without doubling back through Tirana.
